Psoriasis

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin condition whereby the body creates an excessive number of new skin cells, often resulting in thick, scaly patches on the surface of the skin (most commonly, the scalp, back, elbows, and knees). While psoriasis is often a life-long disease, there are treatment options to help sufferers gain some control over the condition, resulting in clearer skin, better overall health, and stopping the condition from worsening. Psoriasis can increase your risk of developing other diseases, such as diabetes. A board-certified dermatologist can watch for early signs of disease.
