How Does It Work?

The Diode 808nm wavelengths target the melanin in the hair follicle. The lights are converted to heat energy and destroys the source. During the treatment the surrounding tissue may experience irritation but remains undamaged. Future hair regrowth is prevented and shaving, or other removal methods become minimally necessary. Using chiller-tip contact cooling and innovative pulse technology with four different functions, the BARE 808 laser hair removal services offer safe and effective treatment for many skin types. What Can You Expect?

During your treatment with one of our highly trained aestheticians or physicians, the light pulses will cause a prickling sensation and a bit of a snap. There will be a slight warmth along with these sensations, however because of the unique design of the BARE 808, they are typically very well tolerated. Treatments produce minimal pain and little to no downtime, and reactions are typically temporary, mild swelling and redness like a sunburn.

Hair will fall out about 10-14 days after treatment, and you can expect a 10% to 25% reduction in hair after your first session. We recommend a series of four to six treatments for best results and maximum efficiency. Unfortunately, if you stop before treatment is complete and each follicle gets targeted then you will end up with regrowth.

Before and After

Refrain from using tanning products or exposing the area to much sun for three to four weeks prior to your treatment. Exfoliate the area to remove all residues before your appointment and do not apply make-up, moisturizers, deodorant, or sun cream before your treatment starts. If you have applied a product on accident, please request cleansing wipes from your provider. You can shave the area to avoid that dreaded “burnt hair smell,” however do not tweeze, wax or pluck the target area before your sessions. Don’t invite bacteria to thrive but going to the tanning bed, beach, gym, or sauna too quickly. Avoid heating your body, including via hot showers, for about 24 hours.

Unfortunately, in some cases laser hair removal can stimulate additional growth. If you have an abundance of certain types of vellus hairs, your dermatologist can let you know you may need to consider alternative hair removal options. Fluctuating hormones and other factors can sometimes make hair grow back, so there is a chance that you may need some “top up” treatments in the future.
